Miraculous Necklaces

This is honestly another example of me googling and finding things I like and want to model. This is somewhat a fanwork. Which I know is kind of a faux pas to add to a demo reel but I enjoyed it and I did it more for myself. It might also be transformative enough to be ok, because apparently the perfume bottles are.
I worked on these in short bursts during the winter break of 2017. I stopped the first time in January of 2018 and plan to try to revise the models. I learned something in the spring of 2018. I think it was the use of the lattice tool instead of manually warping the Chat necklace.
During the making of the first necklace, ladybug, I decided to mix in gem cuts because I thought it would be a good addition.

Ladybug
This is what I started with in this necklace series. According to my files, I started this on the 17th of December and started on the Chat one around the 19th. I didn't have a lot of trouble with my limited modeling skills. I just went with it and think it was fine. I need to redo the rims because wow did I not understand how I should have bevel things. I did start the making of the gems here and I thoroughly enjoyed making them. They weren't really hard after I did this one but it was really fun.
I went back and fixed up the textures from the base colors I left it as.
Chat Noir
I worked on the Ladybug necklace first so I took some of the skeletal parts from it. I noticed that the bell I was originally working on didn't work. It was pinching in part of it and I thought about it and redid it. It is more geometry than I wanted to but it did fix the pinching. I need to redo this one largely because of the tail part. I think the other parts are alright but that tail is probably pretty awful.
I went back and re-did a bunch of the textures. I have to say I enjoy the bell a lot more with a better metal texture on. I will probably see if I can fiddle with the gems in this one feel more intentional.
Volpina
I believe that the show these are from was only in its first season or so. I thought it'd be fun to do the major character's as necklaces. I attempted to do the design from scratch. In retrospect, I should have done a design on paper first. I think it vaguely looks like it's supposed to but one of these days I'll redo it. I think technically, besides the ears, it is done better than the original two.
When I redid the textures I was somewhat surprised by the design of the character. I realized that the fox tail wasn't how I thought it looked so I changed it. I really enjoy what the gemstone is doing.
